In today's world it is essential for numerous applications, from cryptography to e-commerce to streaming videos, to be able to efficiently send information and have the recipient receive what we intend. Steven Miller of Williams College will join us to discuss some of the challenges in doing so, and explore some systems that can not only detect but also correct transmission errors in real-time. The presentation will be followed by light refreshments in the Math Learning Center (located in room 218 of The Bollier Center) from 1:25 to 2:00 p.m.

Milestone Class Socials

Milestone class socials will take place in a cluster format, bringing together three class years for informal events at various locations throughout downtown Spokane and around campus. Reconnect with friends, reminisce and toast to the Íø±¬ÃÅ spirit. All alumni are welcome — you don’t need to be part of the featured classes, and there is no cost to attend this event. Light appetizers will be available; beverages are no-host.
Unfortunately, the 5-Year, Classes of 2018, 2019 and 2020, class social has been canceled.

The Zagapalooza Zoom (5K Fun Run)

Kick off Zagapalooza with a free on-campus 5K fun run, starting and ending at Íø±¬ÃÅ Outdoors. After the run, enjoy a parking lot open house with music, refreshments and prize drawings. The first-place 5K finisher will receive a special award. Participation is free, but a signed waiver is required—complete this to receive your waiver by email. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to receive bibs and ensure waivers are complete.
