The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic is more than a classroom—it’s a front-row seat to the practice of law in action. Students step directly into the role of advocate, representing clients who might otherwise face the IRS alone. From negotiating with the Service to litigating in Tax Court, our students develop real-world skills while delivering critical access to justice.
But the opportunities don’t stop there. Our clinic has even provided students with the extraordinary chance to argue before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit—a rare and career-defining experience at any stage of practice, let alone during law school.
Through the LITC, students sharpen their litigation and negotiation skills, stand up for fairness in the tax system, and make a tangible difference in people’s lives. It’s a unique blend of rigorous training, meaningful service, and unforgettable experiences.
Clients are accepted throughout the year.
