Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA)

Undergraduate students who are not eligible to submit the FAFSA, but are a resident of Washington State, may be eligible for state financial aid.  For these students, they can submit the .  The WASFA is specifically for low-income, non-citizen students who attended a Washington High School and are unable or uncomfortable filing a FAFSA.  The WASFA will determine if the student is eligible for the Washington College Grant, Washington College Bound, Washington State Work Study, or other institutional or outside scholarship or grant opportunities. Please review the Types of Aid webpage for information on these programs.

Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA)

Graduate students who are not eligible to submit the FAFSA, may be eligible to apply for scholarships opportunities through Washington State or Work Opportunities.  Some of these may require the student has filed a .  You can learn more about these opportunities on the Graduate Aid webpage.

If a graduate student does not file a FAFSA and/or WASFA, they may still be eligible for institutional scholarships, assistantships or private loans.  Understand more about these options on the Graduate Aid page.

Graduate and Undergraduate International Students

International students are not eligible to submit the FAFSA, WASFA or Needs Analysis form.  All undergraduate international students who apply for admission are automatically considered for a merit scholarship.  Undergraduate and Graduate international students have the option to apply for a private loan and can learn more information on our  Private Alternative Loan Webpage. Certain private lenders may require a U.S. based cosigner.  Below is a list of additional resources for international students.

Disbursement of Financial Aid 

Student Financial Services provides financial aid refunds to students around the first day of classes for those students who have submitted all required materials at least 30 days prior to the start of the term. Virtual Campus students will receive financial aid refunds two weeks after the start of the term. Pell eligible students who need financial assistance to purchase their books at the start of the term should contact Student Financial Services.
